Jen Woods
I learnt to ride when I was in my early 40’s – so I was not a person who learnt to ride in a paddock and have always ridden. However, once I learnt to ride, I was smitten. I have many memories of long rides in Australia and have covered many kilometres.
I have held various roles through my riding life and became interested in road safety for riders early on. I attended the 2008 Motorcycle and Scooter Safety Summit: The Road Ahead. The results and findings of that summit still resonate today.
I was (and am again) the President of the Motorcycle Riders Association of ACT (MRA ACT), having been involved in that organisation for over 20 years.
I have been a member of the AMC for over 12 years as the representative of the MRA ACT and at times for the Ulysses Club. I am the current secretary of the AMC.
I am also the ACT representative on the Ulysses Club Road Safety Committee, a position that I have held continuously since its inception in 2008 and am its current Chair.
I am a member of the Australasian College of Road Safety and am active in the ACT Chapter.
